The organization
The Long Island Horticultural Society is a non-profit organization that helps people learn about gardening. Meetings are held about nine times per year, on Sunday afternoons in the winter and Wednesday evenings in spring and fall (no meetings during the summer). At each meeting a knowledgeable speaker presents a program on some topic of interest to gardeners. There is also an education presentation prior to the main speaker. Topics for both have included:

Sanctuary Gardening for the Soul
